I'm Nalin.

My love affair with software development started when I was in 8th and has continued with the same intensity thereafter. I am a proponent of Technology with Purpose. My upbringing has me believe that technology is a very powerful tool that can help change people’s lives for the better. Frugal innovation is my mantra where I aspire to improve my knowledge and skills to design simple yet powerful solutions to common problems.

University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign

I am currently a freshman pursuing a BS in Computer Science. I am also planning on pursuing a Math minor. I am involved with the Illini-Chess and ACM-ICPC clubs on campus.

The Shri Ram School-Aravali

I took Physics, Chem , Math, English, and CS in highschool. I was also the Head of my school's CS society, teaching students Competitive Programming.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate

An 8 week summer program focusing on Data Science using R and its application.

Skills

I have 6 years of programming experience and I'm well versed with verison control tools such as git and with modules like TensorFlow, Scikit, dlib , cv2 and PyGame. I primarily code in Java and Python but am trying to expand my repetoire to include proficiency in C++ and HTML/CSS

Projects

Facial Emotion Detection Project

I used Deep Learning to train a model to predict, in real time, the emotion a person is showing from his/her Facial Expressions.

Self Balancing Robot

I used a Raspberry Pi and Python to code out a inverted pendullum self-balancing robot.

Flappy Bird

I coded out the popular mobile game Flappy Bird using PyGame and trained a NEAT model to beat the game.

Currency Project

Project I coded in R to use statistical techniques like PCA, Ensemble trees, etc to analyse the correlation between the relative value of a currency and trade value between those countries

Neural Network comparison

This project aims to analyse to application, pros and cons of using different Neural Networks.
